Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged mothers to embrace breastfeeding as a critical investment in children’s health and the nation’s future as the world marks World Breastfeeding Week 2026.
In a message to commemorate the global event, Senator Tinubu aligned with this year’s theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,” stressing that breastfeeding provides the foundation for healthy growth, development, and lifelong well-being.
She also encouraged mothers to maintain healthy lifestyles and eat nutritious diets to safeguard their own health and that of their children.
The First Lady said strengthening breastfeeding practices would contribute to healthier families and a more sustainable future for the country.
