The Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, Dr Olusola Osetoba says there will be some changes to both Ekiti United and Ekiti Queens, ahead of the next football season.
Dr Osetoba stated this while appraising the performance of both teams at the end of the 2025/2026 football season.
While Ekiti United played in Conference B of the Nigeria National League, Ekiti Queens played in group A Premiership of the Nigeria Women Football League.
Dr Osetoba commended both teams for their dedication, perseverance and discipline in ensuring that they finished the season well and in respectable positions.
Ekiti United ended the season in 3rd position on the Conference B table of the NNL while Ekiti Queens finished the season in the 4th position in Group A of the NWFL.

The Technical Advisor noted that both teams did well despite several challenges, most especially Ekiti Queens, who had to endure a period of banishment to Abeokuta but rose above the negatives to finish fourth on the table, even above those who played all their home games in their backyard.
Dr Osetoba commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his genuine support for sports development and for ensuring that the Queens travelled to Adamawa State for their league fixture by air, which was the first time in the history of the State.
However, ahead of the new season, Dr Osetoba promised that there would be some changes to boost the performance of both teams.

She affirmed that the changes would be done to help Ekiti United to fight for promotion to the NPFL while Ekiti Queens too, would qualify to play in the Super Six.
Dr Osetoba gave an assurance that the present administration under Governor Biodun Oyebanji will continue to change the face of Sports for the better, more so if the administration is returned for another term.
