Nigeria’s Seun Ogunsakin has secured a place in the main draw of the US Open Junior Tennis Championship after defeating top seed, Felix Roussel in the qualifying round.
Ogunsakin produced an impressive performance to overcome Roussel 6-3, 6-4 and book his place in the main draw of the prestigious junior tournament.
The Nigerian showed composure and determination throughout the encounter, completing a straight-sets victory against the No. 1 seed.
The victory marks Ogunsakin’s maiden appearance in the US Open Junior Championship main draw and represents another significant milestone in his developing tennis career.
Ogunsakin will now turn his attention to the main draw as he looks to continue his impressive run on the Grand Slam stage.
The Ekiti State born rising star, whose career was shaped by his Tennis Coach father, Wumi Ogunsakin, recently played at Wimbledon Junior and got to Quarter finals.
