The Wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has called on Christian women across the state to continue offering prayers and support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

Dr. Oyebanji made the call during an engagement with the Women Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN) in Ekiti State, where she appreciated the group for its steadfast prayers, support, and commitment to the peace and progress of the state.

The First Lady described women as the backbone of every society, noting that their dedication to raising godly families, promoting unity and supporting humanitarian causes has continued to strengthen communities and inspire hope among the people.

“I sincerely appreciate the Ekiti State Christian Association of Nigeria Women Wing for your steadfast prayers, support, and commitment to the peace and progress of Ekiti State”. She said.

Dr Oyebanji commended the support of the Christian community for the administration of Governor Oyebanji, stressing that their prayers and encouragement had contributed immensely to the peace, stability and development being witnessed across the state.

Dr Oyebanji also urged Christians to continue to pray for the peace and security of Ekiti State and Nigeria, citing Psalm 122:6 which says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”

She further encouraged citizens to promote love, compassion, peace and godly values in their homes and communities in order to build a stronger and more prosperous society for future generations.

Dr. Oyebanji also charged Christians to encourage eligible voters to exercise their civic responsibilities by participating peacefully in the forthcoming election.

Highlighting some of the interventions carried out through her office, the First Lady reeled out various humanitarian and empowerment initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of women, children and vulnerable groups across the state.

In their goodwill messages, the Chairperson of the Women Wing of CAN, Mrs. Modupe Olowoyeye and a CAN stakeholder, Mrs Toyosi Omope commended the First Lady for her commitment to humanitarian service and support for women and families in Ekiti State.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Coordinator of the Prayer Group for BAO, Hon. Dupe Bakare, expressed appreciation to members of the Christian community for their continuous support and pledged sustained prayers and mobilization efforts toward the re-election of Governor Oyebanji.
