The Ekiti State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Dayo Apata (SAN), has urged stakeholders to intensify efforts toward curbing drug abuse in the state, describing the trend as a threat to public health and youth development.
Mr Apata made the call at the BAO for Health Families’ Outreach themed “The Ills of Substance Abuse on Families and Communities,” held in Efon-Ekiti.
He said the programme, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs, was aimed at educating residents and eliminating drug abuse in the state.
Mr Apata urged citizens to support government efforts to rid the state of the menace.
