Gov Oyebanji hosts City Boy Movement, canvasses support for President Tinubu.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has charged members of the City Boy Movement in Ekiti State to intensify grassroot mobilisation ahead of coming elections in the state, declaring that the State is determined to deliver over 80 percent of total votes cast for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 election.

The Governor made the call while receiving members of the City Boy Movement at his Ikogosi country home where he emphasised the need for discipline and unity within the group.

He described the Movement as ambassadors of the All Progressives Congress and the President, urging them to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the ideals of the ruling party and that will preach the good works of President Tinubu.

Governor Oyebanji stressed that winning elections in Ekiti requires intensive grassroot work, noting that political success in the state has always been rooted in community engagement and direct interaction with the electorate.

He appealed to them to ensure that eligible voters collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing voter participation as critical to achieving the desired electoral outcome.

Earlier, the Ekiti State Director of the City Boy Movement, Mr Oluwafemi Kasali, said the group visited the Governor, who is also their Patron, to brief him on their plans ahead of the June 20 governorship election and the 2027 general elections.

He noted that the movement is targeting undecided voters across the state and also working towards increasing voters turnout beyond the figures recorded in the 2022 and 2023 elections.

He expressed optimism that with sustained grassroots engagement and the Governor’s antecedents, the movement would deliver impressive results for the APC and President Tinubu in the forthcoming polls.
