Ekiti Govt Commences E-Training for 3,400 UTME Candidates

The Ekiti State Ministry of Education has commenced an e-training programme for 3,400 government sponsored students preparing for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in the state.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr Olabimpe Aderiye, made this known while monitoring the exercise at a centre in Ikere-Ekiti.

Aderiye urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the initiative to adequately prepare for the examination.

She explained that the programme followed the earlier distribution of free e-pins to the 3,400 beneficiaries by the state government.

According to her, the training is designed to familiarise candidates with past UTME questions and equip them with skills to enhance their performance.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tertiary Education, Prof. Adebayo Azeez, described the initiative as a deliberate intervention aimed at supporting students’ academic success.

He advised the candidates to remain focused and avoid distractions as they prepare for the examination.

The facilitator of the training, Mr Ogundipe Olufemi of Passion Plus, said the programme would help students understand the examination format.

Two beneficiaries, Miss Adebayo Peculiar and Master Afolabi Taiwo, commended Gov. Biodun Oyebanji for the initiative and pledged to perform well in the examination.

Also present at the event at the forum were the Executive Secretary, Agency for Adult and Non-Formal Education, Mrs Modupe Falade, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Matters, Miss Modupe Adetiba.
