EKITI ADC SET TO CONDUCT PRIMARIES ……as Five aspirants jostle for party’s ticket

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State is set to hold its primary election tomorrow to select its governorship candidate for the 2026 election.

Five aspirants are vying for the party’s ticket, and the election will be conducted through a direct primary mode across all 177 wards in the state.

Addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the party State Chairman , Hon. Omolayo Ilesanmi, assured members of a free, fair, and transparent primary election, emphasizing that the candidate will be selected through votes of delegates, not consensus.

He also called for adequate security during and after the primary election to protect members’ lives and property.

The party’s secretary, Chief Segun Akinwunmi, explained that delegates will queue behind their preferred candidate, and the party aims to present a candidate who can dislodge the incumbent Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.

The ADC is confident of winning the 2026 election and has urged members to exercise decorum and peace during the primary election.
