Afan Demands Release Of Kidnapped Member

Farmers in Ekiti have called on the state government and security agencies to help beef-up security to ensure their safety.

Ekiti State chairman, All Farmers Association of Nigeria, AFAN, Mr. Adebola Alagbada made the appeal on the sideline of a kidnapped farmer, Mr Mathew Ojo.

The Ekiti AFAN chairman noted that the farmer, Mr. Mathew Ojo was kidnapped on his farm in Ikere-Ekiti on Tuesday.

Mr. Alagbada however stressed that wife of the kidnapped farmer informed him that the assailants were demanding for twenty million naira as a ransom.

He emphasized that if insecurity is not curtailed, it may discourage many people from farming, which may eventually lead to hunger in the country.
