Ekiti State governor’s wife, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has sought the robust collaborative effort of the Nigeria Union of Journalist towards the successful tenure of the present administration.
The Governor’s wife stated this in Ado Ekiti while receiving the executive members of the state council of the Union.
She said NUJ plays a major role in economic development of any society as a watchdog hence the need to carry them along for every administration to achieve success.
Dr Oyebanji gave assuarace that the activities of the union would be supported within the resources in the capacity of the office of the first Lady.
“Any government that will survive should not toy with journalist because the institution is very close to the people” she said.
Earlier, the Chairman of NUJ Ekiti State council, Mr Rotimi Ojomoyela had intimated the Governor’s wife with the Programmes of the union urging her to give support wherever it was needed.
He therefore pledged the support of the members of the union with the present administration.
