CACCHS ADO ALUMNI ’98 SET GIVES BACK TO ALMA MATER

By Gbénga Babalola

According to a Yoruba Proverb “Tí Okete Bá ti Dàgbà, Ọmú Ọmọ Rẹ̀ Ló maa n Mu” (when a Bush Rat is Old, it Feeds on her Offsprings). This proverb came to the fore, at the Christ Apostolic Church Comprehensive High School, Adó-Èkìtì, during the Presentation of Science Laboratory Equipment and Stools, by the 1998 Set of the School.

Giving an insight into the import of the event, Chairman of the Group, Mr. Gbénga Afé explained that upon enquiry, it was discovered that the school lacked basic Laboratory Apparatus which hampered Students interest in Science Subjects, a development seen by the Set as being abysmal.

Mr. Afé who coincidentally was also the Senior Prefect of the 1998 Set of the School, hinged the success of the event on the resilience and sheer commitment of members of the Alumni, both in Nigeria and in the Diaspora, towards ensuring that such landmark Presentation was made at their Alma Mater, Twenty-Six Years after their Valedictory.

Receiving the materials on behalf of the School’s Management, Principal of C. A. C Comprehensive High School, Adó-Èkìtì, Mrs. Temilade Bamisaye, appreciated the ’98 Set for the very lofty, kind and apt gesture they have demonstrated to their Alma Mater. She gladly remarked thus: “with these Apparatus, Science Practicals will now be easier for the Students”.

In their separate remarks ladened with blessings, the CACCHS Adó-Èkìtì VP Special Duties, Mrs. Tadebo Bolanle, the HOD Sciences, Mrs. Kayode Felix and the School’s Physics Teacher, Mr. Kareem, all commended the giant mark of the Set which has become an indelible one in the anal of the over Forty Years Old Secondary Institution, having achieved a feat some Sets couldn’t, as they usually back out after making enquires.

Expressing their appreciation on behalf of the Students while moving the Vote of Thanks at the event, the visibly happy Senior Prefects Boy and Girl, Ogunbiyi Ayomide and George Grace, both gave kudos to the 1998 Set of the School for remembering their Alma Mater so importantly, prayed God to bless their undertakings and gave assurance that the items would be well utilised.
