A four-year-old boy Oluwadarasimi Omojola who was kidnapped on Friday last week, alongside with his father has been released.
While confirming the development to Radio Nigeria, Progress FM on telephone, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti in Oye Local Government, Oba Adeyeye Ogundeyi said the boy was found near Itapaji/ Iyemero Road yesterday evening.
He explained that the boy is currently receiving treatment in a hospital.
Oba Ogundeyi however appealed to government at all levels to find a lasting solution to incessant kidnapping across communities in Ekiti, especially in Oye Local Government.
The Monarch lamented that about seven people have been kidnapped this year due to security lapses in the axis.
He observed that most of those who had been kidnapped in recent times were peasant farmers who rely on farming to survive.
The Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti also urged relevant security agencies to support the fight against kidnapping, killings and other criminal activities in Oye Local Government.
