The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says technical hitches which can prevent uploading of election results from polling units to its server has been rectified.
The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Ekiti State, Professor Ayobami Salami stated this in Ado-Ekiti during the distribution of sensitive materials for Saturday’s House of Assembly election in the state in the presence of stakeholders.
Professor Salami explained that all the results of the presidential election had been successfully uploaded to its portal, urging any political party that has observations on the results to visit the portal for clarification, saying the House of Assembly election results would also be uploaded from the polling units.
He noted that everything needed for this Saturday’s poll had been made available for smooth conduct and early commencement of the election.
The REC urged residents of Ekiti State to go out in large number to cast their votes for those who will represent them at the State House of Assembly which he said is the legislative arm close to them.
Professor Salami however reassured the people that INEC would remain an unbiased umpire in the poll, as all parties would be treated equally.
In an interview, the Chairman, Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC in Ekiti State, Mr. Owoola Daramola who expressed satisfaction with the electoral process so far, however advised INEC to sustain the tempo till the end of the general election in order not to disappoint Nigerians.
Also, the Chairman, Action Democratic Party, ADP in Ekiti state, Chief Olufemi Eponlolaye, (DMMRM) and representative of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Adedayo Arogundade called on residents of the state not see the state Assembly election as less importance, rather they should take it serious.
