The Radio, Television, Theatre and Art Workers Union (RATTAWU), Ekiti State Council has felicitated Muslim faithfuls on this year’s Eid- El – kabir.
This is contained in a message by the Union’s Chairman, Comrade Jasper Falae and the Secretary, Comrade Ayodele Ogunmilade to salute the followers of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) among the media and cultural workers in Ekiti State.
The Union urged all faithfuls to imbibe the spirit of the sacrifice which Eid-El-Kabir symbolizes and also pray for the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead a Nation where all will be free to co-exist peacefully.
The statement also implored all Islamic devotees in Ekiti State to pray for the success of the government of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji as he is being able to demonstrate a rare determination to see to a prosperous Ekiti State.
The Union also urged the government at all levels to take the welfare of the citizens more seriously as the aftermath of the petrol subsidy removal bites harder on the nation and do more in the areas of Security, Education, Health and improved infrastructural development to better the lots of the masses.
RATTAWU used the opportunity to emphasize the hardship the media houses are enduring to remain on air regarding the prices of diesel and petrol, which are the primary sources of power.
Comrades Falae and Ogunmilade called on the state government to patronise the media outfits more as a way of encouraging them to remain in the critical business of educating and informing the people.
