The spirit of Empathy, kindness, compassion and sacrifice among others have been identified as some of the attributes Nigerians should embrace to be useful citizens of the society.
Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji stated this in Ado Ekiti at a book review entitled “Where is your rapper” in commemoration of this year’s international women’s day.
The Governor’s wife who explained that Women’s rapper were personal possessions that could be used in helping the needy, noted that no matter how little, people should always be of assistance to their fellow human beings.
She eulogies the author of ‘Where is your rapper” saying that the book is colourful, attractive with content validity as it teaches love as well as care for one another.
The Author of the book and immediate past Ekiti Governor’s wife, Erelu Bisi fayemi said being helpful to the society could be more rewarding than amassing personal wealth.
She said the book which has eighty- nine poems and essays, also dwells on how women could be free to use their potentials to pursue future goals irrespective of their ambitions.
The convener of the programme and immediate past Head of Service, Mrs peju Babafemi who advocated compassion, care for one another and love as factors that could make the society better, urged women to strive to overcome all limitations towards attaining greatness.
In their good will messages, The chairman coalition of Ekiti civil society organization,. Professor Chris Oluwadare, the permanent Secretary Ministry of women affairs and social Development, Mrs Sola Adeluyi, and the Secretary to the state government, Alhaja Abibat Adubiaro said the programme would go a long way to restored the extinted reading culture especially among girls and women, if organised on regular basis.
The programme was attended by the Special Adviser on Education, Science and Technology, Dr Bimpe Aderiye, the President, Court of Appeal Ado Ekiti, Justice Olutoyin Abodunde, Speaker Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mrs Bunmi Adelugba among others.
