
Federal University of Oye Ekiti ,FUOYE says it has made a significant commitment to driving innovation in Nigeria’s education sector.
The FUOYE Vice Chancellor, Professor Abayomi Fasina, stated this during a press conference marking the opening of the institution’s 9th convocation ceremony.
He highlighted some of the institution’s achievements under his administration which had ranked it 12th best university in Nigeria in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
The VC noted about two hundred projects including the construction of Fasina Conference Centre, a versatile space designed to host academic conferences and events hostels, sports facilities, and a new Senate Building,have been executed within The last four years.
“I will not rest until FUOYE becomes the best among universities worldwide,” Professor Fasina declared.
He expressed his gratitude to the members of staff and other stakeholders for their unwavering support and commitment to his vision for the university, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the institution’s growth and success ¹.
Professor Fasina commended President Tinubu’s efforts in promoting education, particularly in the areas of student loans, which over three thousand students of the citadel of learning have benefited from.
According to the Vice Chancellor , a total of 8,441 students will be awarded degrees on Saturday, comprising 8,191 undergraduates and 253 postgraduate students.
He pledged to continue prioritizing the welfare and well-being of both staff and students.
