FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL: NLC Suspends Planned Nationwide Strike

The planned nationwide strike announced by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), over the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government has been suspended.

The NLC and Trade Union Congress (TUC), jointly agreed late on Monday to suspend the proposed strike billed to commence nationwide on Wednesday.

It was gathered that the decision to suspend the strike was reached at the end of a meeting held between the labour leaders and representatives of the federal government on Monday evening.

It was also learnt that the labour leaders and federal government representatives have resolved to reconvene on June 19, 2023 for further negotiations on the matter.
