Work with management to reposition Education System in Ekiti -Gov Oyebanji tells Governing Councils

Ekiti state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji has inaugurated the Governing Councils of the three tertiary institutions in the state with a call on members to come up with new ideas on how to reposition the state education system.

The three affected institutions include Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti; EKSU, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, BOUETI and Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, EKSUTH.

Addressing members of the three councils in Ado Ekiti, after they had taken their oath of allegiance and office, Governor Oyebanji appreciated them for accepting the responsibility, saying that they were all carefully selected to be part of the state transformation agenda due to their pedigree and track records..

He reminded them that tertiary education in the state had been facing serious challenges, hence the need for them to work together with the schools’ management, alumni association, and other relevant stakeholders on how to end instability, financial bottle necks as well as students unrest in the institutions.

Mr Oyebanji said government would continue to do its best at complimenting every efforts geared towards ensuring that education in the state attain enviable standards.

According to Governor Oyebanji, they should endeavour to develop new approaches to funding, learning, infrastructure, recruitment, cultural sructures among others in order to take the state education levels to an international standards.

Reponding on behalf of the governing councils, the pro chancellor and chairman, EKSU Governing Council, professor Akin Oyebode expressed the readiness of members to work assiduously and justify the confidence reposed in them for the appointment.

Prof. Oyebode thanked governor Oyebanji for the opportunity and called for the support and cooperation of all stakeholders in the state towards ensuring that the governing councils effect positive changes in the state’s tertiary institutions.

Professor Akin Oyebode is the pro chancellor and chairman of EKSU Governing council, chief Woke Olanipekun is the chancellor of BOUESTI Governing council while Dr Ademola Dada is the chairman EKSUTH Governing Council
