Some Women in Ekiti State have stage a road walk to educate the people on the need to shun violence, vote buying and promote women participation in the forthcoming Governorship election in Ekiti.
The road walk which was organized by a Non Governmental Organization ‘Women Situation Room Nigeria, WSRN afforded selected women across the state to bear their minds on how INEC and Security Agents should provide an enabling environment.

The participants moved with placards in and around the streets of Ado Ekiti with various inscriptions such as ‘Women Against Violence in Election’, ‘Shun vote buying’, INEC We want peaceful elections among others.
Speaking on the importance of the road walk, the Programme Manager for a Non Governmental Organization ‘Women Situation Room Nigeria, Miss Jane Siesi maintained that only a peaceful environment could guarantee credible Governorship election.
Miss Siesi called on drivers and motorcycle unions, as well as stakeholders to support in the efforts to achieve an acceptable peaceful election in Ekiti.
She also emphasized the need for women to see themselves as a stakeholders in electioneering processes in the country.
Some of the Participants including Mrs Ademola Alao and Mrs Folukemi Jacob said INEC should uphold the principles of conducting credible, and violence free poll.
The participants also urged women to come out enmass and vote for the right candidate to liberate Ekiti from corrupt leaders.
