The preliminary stage of the Fuji musical contest, “Oba Orin music challenge” for Ekiti state has taken place where three winners emerged.
The musical competition was held at the premises of Radio Nigeria, Progress FM, Ado-Ekiti.
The winners are Bukola Omodaddy who came first, Akorede kehinde-second while Saheed Aremu-Olaide occupied the third position.
The Oba Orin musical challenge was put together by Fuji musical icon, King Saidi Osupa in conjunction with Radio Nigeria, Southwest zone and Agodo Asa for interested participants in six States making the southwest.
The preliminary stage of the musical contest has already been held in four states, Ekiti is the fifth state where the competition was held.
Over thirty participants from across Ekiti who took part in the contest displayed their musical talents.
Addressing the participants, the project coordinator of Oba Orin music challenge, Mr. Olusegun Lasile said the three winners would represent Ekiti in the second stage among eighteen winners from the six southwest States.
According to him, the eighteen winners will be camped in a building for one week where they will be taught the rudiments of music presentation and studio recording under the tutelage of king Saidi Osupa.
Speaking on the purpose of the Oba Orin music challenge, Mr. Lasile said it was to bridge the gap between the young and old musicians as well as to create employment opportunities through music.
The General Manager, Radio Nigeria Progress FM, Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Dokun Ladele described the musical competition as one of the ways to salvage the future of the entertainment industry.
The grand finale of the music contest will take place in the first week of February 2021 with six finalists.
