A law prohibiting sales of Alcohol at motor packs in Ekiti state will soon be made.
This was the submission of the chairman Board for Ekiti state traffic management agency, Hon. Sunday Ibitoye while answering questions on Awe mo ri o, a progress FM 100.5 accountability programme powered by Wadata Media and Advocacy center with support from MacArthur Foundation.
Honourable Ibitoye said, the havoc caused by having Alcohol selling spots within and around motor parks in the state was too much, as drivers were always tempted to drink before driving. A development he said had resulted in many accidents.
He further explained that Ekiti state traffic Management Agency had been at the forefront of promoting safety for road users in the state and will not stop to do so to protect the citizens plying Ekiti roads.
Hon. Sunday Ibitoye promised that all efforts would be made to ensure the formulation of the law to stop sales of alcohol within and around motor parks in Ekiti state.
He therefore appealed to the leadership of the two transport unions in the state, to cooperate with state government to ensure the stoppage of sales of Alcohol within and around motor parks, even before the said law is made.
