Data collection on orphans and widows in Ekiti state is ongoing to ascertain their areas of needs for necessary attentions.
Wife of Ekiti State Governor Dr Olayemi Oyebanji stated this in Ado Ekiti while receiving Tokunbo Ajila Jakande Children’s Foundation.
She explained that the effort of data collection was part of her pet project saying that such would ensure that those affected would be properly engaged to know what exactly they need for their businesses and upkeep.
The Governor’s wife noted that some of the projects had been institutionalized before the commencement of the present administration, hence it would be sustained through the concerted efforts of all stakeholders.
The First lady appealed to wealthy Nigerians to assist the less previleged no matter how little.
Earlier, the Founder of the Children’s Foundation, Mrs Tokunbo Jakande said various humanitarian services geared towards helping the orphans, widows and children remained the priority of the organization.
Mrs Jakande said the foundation was ready to partner the Governor’s wife office in bringing the indigent pupils back to school.
She noted that the foundation had been preoccupied with payment of school fees of the less previleged, giving scholarship to indigent students and providing social security to the aged.
The State Coordinator of the Children’s Foundation, Mrs Fatima Bello however appreciated the Governor’s wife promising the foundation’s readiness to give necessary support and assistance to the less privileged.
