Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded Osun governorship election, who is also the incumbent governor, Adegboyega Oyetola and the leadership of the party are still studying the results of the poll.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Ismail Omipidan announced this in a statement in Osogbo.
Governor Oyetola said he had taken cognisance of the results of the election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, stressng that his party will react after appraising the outcome of the poll.
Governor Oyetola noted that the party would be responding appropriately after studying the results and consulting with critical stakeholders of the party.
While imploring his supporters to remain calm, the governor urged the people of the State to go about their businesses without hindrance.
Governor Oyetola also called on security operatives to ensure maintenance of law an order, urging them to take adequate charge so as to prevent break down of law and order.
Senator Adeleke had polled PDP 403,371 to defeat Oyetola and the APC with 375,027 votes, while Lasun Yusuf of Labour Party, LP polled 2,729.
Senator Adeleke won in 17 local government areas against Oyetola’s 13 before he was returned elected by the Chief Returning Officer for INEC, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos early Sunday morning
