WAFCON 2022: Super Falcons end campaign empty handed

Dominant Super Falcons of Nigeria finished with the wooden spoon to equal their worst performance at the WAFCON after they lost 1-0 to Zambia in a third-place match on Friday in Casablanca.

The Falcons have won nine WAFCONs and were aiming for a 10th continental title in Morocco, but it has all come to nought.

Zambia match winner was Evarine Katongo, whose powerful shot in the first half crashed against the goal post and then goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for the only goal of this encounter.

It was a first time win for the Zambians against Nigeria, who previously walloped the Southern Africans twice in this competition.
