VIOLATORS OF SANITARY RULES STAND TRIAL BEFORE EKITI MAGISTRATE COURT.

Thirty Five persons today face trial before Ekiti State Magistrate court sitting in Ado Ekiti for failure to comply with sanitary rules.

The chief magistrate, Bamidele Olubunmi said the culprits were guilty of various Environmental laws and therefore sentenced them to between one and three months imprisonment with an option of fine ranging from two to five thousand Naira.

In a remark, the state Director, Environmental Health and Sanitation, Mr Tunde Balogun urged residents to always comply with sanitary rules and maintain hygienic standards.

He expressed the determination of government to curb the wave of pandemic in the state through adequate monitoring and enforecment of environmental laws.

Mr Balogun who described the level of compliance during this month’s sanitation exercise as fair, maintained that regular cleaning of environment remained a major way or curbing diseases.
