Victims recently kidnapped along irele Oke -Ako Axis have narrated thier ordeal in the hands of the men of the under world who whisked them away.
The Victims who are Staff of Basic Health Centre and Irele Community High School in Irele Ekiti told newsmen during a visit by the chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Prince Micheal Ogungbemi and his wife olawunmi olayinka that their kidnappers were not yoruba and hardly could they expressed themselves in English
The victims who were emotional said they were thoroughly beaten with cutlasses and gun and forced to trek throughout in the thick forest to neighbouring states,with thier hands tied with rope .
They noted with concern that the kidnappers even spoke about the present economic challenges which had further impoverished the people.
They however urged the state government to ensure that all border towns were secured and improve on intelligence gathering to ensure effective policing in the state.
The Council Boss, Prince Michael Ogungbemi reiterated the government’s commitment to improving the local security network in fortifying the borders and forest of Ajoni territories.
He also commended both the local and conventional security agencies involved in the rescue of the victims for their swift response.
Prince Ogungbemi gave an assurance of peace, safety and protection of the indigenes,with a view to sustaining the welfare of the citizens of the council area and the State at large.
Beverages, fruits and cash were given to the victims at the state hospital where they were all receiving special treatment from various wounds.
