VIABILITY OF YOUTHS NOT PROPERLY HARNESSED IN EKITI…. RT HON.OLUWASEGUN FAMUYIBO

The Youth Assembly of Nigeria says efforts are being made to enhance youth productivity, political engagement and empowerment.

Speaker of Youth Assembly of Nigeria in Ekiti State, Mr Oluwasegun Famuyibo stated this in his inaugural speech in Ado Ekiti.

He noted that the viability of youths were not being channelled appropriately by political, social and religious syndicates which had made the younger generation ineffective.

Mr Famuyibo said the development was weakling the competence of agile youths but that the progressive bodies of Youth Vanguard in Ekiti State would strife to fix the loopholes to make youths in the state more productive.

“YAN has been structured to ensure massive youth involvement in Politics & Governance, Economic Development, Youth Empowerment, Gender Balancing and Wide Youth Orientation, all for the sustainability of the Structure that will project our youths for leadership in no distance time”.

“The time to stop the mentality of Youth as agents of electoral destruction process is now. If we cannot be made productive, we should not be made destroyers” the Speaker said.

He assured that the leadership of Youth Assembly of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter would work on the identified challenges and make create a society where youths would be valued and utilized.

“As we look forward to providing a reliable, robust and all inclusive leadership for the youths in the State, we are ready to discuss with proven facts and empirical evidences on the guiding principles on the which the youth Assembly stands”.

“On insecurity we have identified with the police, the Department of State Security Service, and all other security agencies in Ekiti State, committees shall be inaugurated within the shortest time that will include youths in rural areas of the state, we shall seek the help of security agencies to orientate them so as to gather first hand information on security threats in all towns and villages of the State”.

The speech reads in part: “While we reflect on the message passed by our own notable Icon (Chief) Aare Afe Babalola on the state of the state in the last 25years, it calls for a reflective action and to re-strategise on how to achieve economic independence and summount security challenges the state is battling.

It is on this note the leadership of YAN and Ekiti by extension join other youths of the State to celebrate her 25th year anniversary of peaceful coexistence. I commend the Government of Ekiti State for recognizing notable personalities that has contributed immensely to the liberation of Ekiti State and its creation, and we call on the government and successful Ekiti indigenes, especially those with records of unbeatable businesses across the country to provide a standardize factory in Ekiti State, this we believe will boost the economy of the State” end.
