A horrific incident has occurred in Emure Local Government, Ekiti State, where a 16-year-old girl was brutally murdered by two men after she refused their attempt to rape her.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl had gone to the farm with her brother when they were accosted by the two suspects, believed to be herders. While the brother managed to escape, the girl was overpowered and held captive by the assailants.
Although it is unclear whether the girl was raped before her murder, sources confirm that she was killed in a gruesome manner, with some likening her death to that of an animal being slaughtered.
The police have arrested the two suspects in connection with the crime, and an investigation is currently underway.
Mr. Olu Okeya, a resident of the town, expressed his shock and outrage over the incident, calling for justice to be served.
