In Ekiti State, those in habit of dumping waste in drainages will henceforth face tough time to check the unhygienic practices.
The commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs iyabo Fakunle okieime announced this while briefing newsmen in Ado-Ekiti Ekiti after monitoring this month’s sanitation.
She maintained that officers of the ministries had been positioned at strategic locations across the state to arrest violators of sanitary rules.
“As the raining season sets in we are very ready to checkmate the unwholesome attitude as those apprehended would be made to face legal action”. She emphasized.
Commenting on this month’s sanitation exercise, Mrs Fakunle okiemen described compliance among people as fair owing to the fact that some people were cleaning their environment while few others were loitering about.
The commissioner admonished residents of the state to ensure regular hygienic practices, so as to check epidemic in the state.
In aeas visited including okeiyinmi, Basiri, Adeboyo, old garage all in Ado Ekiti, few people were seen cleaning their environment.
