The family of a farmer in Igbara Odo, Ekiti South West Local Government Bayo Ogunlana has been thrown into agony and mourning after he was shot dead by his best friend, Abiodun Oke.
According to a report from the family of the deceased, he was shot from a close range by his friend who doubles as his immediate neighbour over the matter they described as insignificant.
A source from the family claimed that the suspected murderer allegedly stole some corn from a farm and was seen at home while peeling it.
However, the owner of the farm from where the corn was stolen and other persons later got to know that the suspected murderer was the culprit.
The family source allleged that the suspect thought it was his friend who saw him while peeling the corn that leaked the secret, he later laid ambush on him at the early hours of Thursday and shot him.
Reports say, the accused had threatened to kill four more persons before he would kill himself.
The family are now calling on the police to find the suspected killer and make him face the consequences of his action before he wreaks more havoc in the community.
