Newly crowned African champions, Banyana Banyana of South Africa swept the awards at the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations WAFCON, in Morocco.
Desiree Ellis’ side defeated the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco 2-1 on Saturday night to claim their first WAFCON title.
Andile Dlamini who kept three clean sheets in the six games that Banyana Banyana played, was named the goalkeeper of the tournament.
Her teammate, Hilda Magaia, who bagged a brace in the win against Morocco, finished as joint top scorer with three goals, alongside Moroccan captain Ghizlane Chebbak and Nigeria’s Rasheedat Ajibade.
The Banyana Banyana also went home with the Fair Play award.
Chebbak was named Player of the Tournament.
