Women have been advised to be visionary and have personal goals in order to function optimally in their fields.
A resource person, Dr. Lola Tope-Daramola gave the advice at a public lecture in commemoration of the 2022 international women’s day held in Ado Ekiti.
Mrs. Tope-Daramola who spoke on the topic “Breaking The Bias In Public Service” stressed the need for women to have their personal goals, apart from corporate vision.
She emphasized need for women in management to acquire needed knowledge in their chosen careers in order not to be found wanting.
“To break a bias is not an easy task, especially in the public service, hence they should give it all it takes to do their job as expected”.
In another presentation, a medical Expert, Dr. Tunde Olofinbiyi urged women to always go for regular medical check up to prevent health challenges associated with some people when they rise to managerial levels.
Dr. Olofinbiyi listed some of the health challenges to include menopausal stress, cancer, blood pressure and diabetes among others.
He also enjoined women to develop right attitude with their Spouses so that they could get needed support when dealing with health challenges that might arise.
The EKWIM coordinator Mrs Oyeyemi Kayode-Ojo said the theme of the lecture was chosen to sensitise women in management to break the bias limiting them from maximum performance as their male counterparts.
