Sequel to killings;Ekiti Police Command parades 21 suspected criminals

Ekiti State Police Command has paraded twenty-one suspected criminals in Ado Ekiti.

The suspects were recently arrested following the killings of at least five persons within Ado Ekiti metropolis last week.

The suspected criminals were paraded at the Command headquarters in Ado Ekiti.

Speaking during the parade, the Public Relations Officer of Ekiti State Police Command, Mr Sunday Abutu explained that the suspected criminals were arrested due to prompt actions of various units of the command.

Mr Abutu noted that others who were also paraded were involved in different crimes such as armed robbery, stealing, cultism, conspiracy, jail break, illegal possession of fire arms, murder, among others.

The Ekiti State Police spokesperson said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations.

In separate interviews, some of the suspects admitted that they committed the offences while others denied.

Items recovered from them include five motorcycles, guns, customized caps and live cartridges.

Recall that, five persons, including an “Okada” ticket-man, a foodstuff hawker and POS operators were killed by unknown gunmen in Ado Ekiti within a week recently.
