Rivers Crisis Update; 3 More Commissioners Resign.

The tsunami of resignation currently rocking the Rivers State political landscape has continued with three more Commissioners leaving the cabinet of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

They are Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Jacobson Nbina; Commissioner for Housing, Dr Gift Worlu and that of Environment, Austen Ben-Chioma.

The three former Commissioners sent their letters of resignation separately and addressed them to Secretary to the State Government.

Their resignation is following closely the exit of six of their colleagues who left the cabinet less than 24 hours earlier, making it a total of 9 Commissioners who have resigned within 3 days.

There were reports that, following the exit of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice on Wednesday, 13th December, 2023, Governor Siminalayi Fubara had directed all Commissioners loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike to leave by Friday, 15th December or be sacked by Monday, 18th December, 2023.
