Residents of Araromi-Ekiti in Ijero local government have called on concerned authorities to help them in resolving issues surrounding power outage in the town.
Speaking with a Progress FM reporter, the President, Araromi Progressive Union, Mr. Jerome Omotola said the town has not been enjoying power supply for some months.
Mr. Omotola explained that men of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, Ido District claimed that the community was owing the company, saying over one hundred thousand naira has been paid to offset the debt.
He made it clear that electricity was only supplied to the town just once after the payment was made, adding that other neighbouring communities were enjoying stable electricity.
Mr. Omotola therefore urged the BEDC officials and other relevant bodies to rectify problems hindering the supply of electricity to Araromi-Ekiti to justify the money they paid.
