Residents Disrupt Commercial Activities in Agbado Over Government Inability to Upgrade Monarch

Commercial and Business activities were disrupted in Agbado Ekiti yesterday following the Protest of some residents over the inability of government to@ upgrade the traditional status of Owa- oro, of Agbado to Grade A.

The spokesperson for the protesters and the Odunro of Agbado EKITI, Chief ojo Agbelusi expressed regret that inspite of presentation and various plea, nothing came out from the list recently released by government.

Chief Agbelusi told newsmen that the peaceful demonstration would continue untill government consider owa ooro as a grade A monarch which was long overdue.

Also, some of the aggrieved protesters including the Olute of Agbado Ekiti, Mr Johnson Afuye and Sanya Adeusi who represented the youths said with the voting capacity of Agbado Ekiti such demand should be given to the community.

The respondents who traced the origin of the town urged the state government to grant the monarch his due status as being done to others in the state.
