Tragedy was averted In the ever busy town of Ore, Ondo state on Wednesday morning as two pupils almost drowned in a stream on their way to school.
The incident occurred at idi-mango new site, along idi-mango-kajola-ojurin road in the commercial city.
Eyewitness says the incident occurred when the two children aged 5 and 6 were trying to beat the early morning rain and almost ran into the stream which was without a bridge.
They were however rescued by a passer-by who quickly ran towards them and led them through a safe path.
Two residents who spoke to our Reporter including Messrs Bolade Aregbesola and Semiu Ayoade appealed to Ondo State government to urgently construct drainage and a bridge over the stream to prevent avoidable tragedies.
