The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Progress FM Chapel has congratulated the Chairman of the Chapel, Comrade Olaniyi Alade and the Secretary, Comrade Funke Adeigba for emerging best Journalists in their respective beats in Ekiti State.
The Chapel hailed the members for bagging Outstanding journalists’ Awards at the just concluded Ekiti NUJ Press Week, thereby making the Chapel proud.
The award of Best Journalist in Crime Reporting, sponsored by the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Adeniran Akinwale was won by Comrade Alade while that of the Newscaster of the Year, sponsored by Ekiti State Director General, Community Communications, Mrs Mary Osho-Omotosho was won by Comrade Adeigba.
In a statement, the Chapel said the feat was an evidence that members of staff of Progress FM are commited to their duties and uphold professionalism.
The Chapel urged the award recipients to work harder to receive more commendations while urging other members to emulate the awardees.
The Chapel also commended the leadership of Ekiti NUJ led by Comrade Kayode Babatuyi for deeming it fit to recognize outstanding Journalists across various beats.
At the programme held on Saturday, the 12th of October, 2024 in Ado Ekiti, excellent awards were presented to some notable Nigerians for their contributions to society and community development.
