Nigerians have been charged to always share their problems with relevant people, instead of keeping it to themselves in order to overcome depression.
A clinical Psychologist, Dr. Adedotun Ajiboye gave the charge during interaction with Progress FM staff, titled “Maintaining mental health in a stressful world” an event to round off the 23rd anniversary activities.
Dr. Ajiboye noted that, inability to concentrate with job, having problems in relationship and getting angry more than necessary were signs of mental health issues.He also described accumulated anger, hatred, unforgiveness, halucination, sleeplessness, workplace stress and marital stress as factors that could lead to mental disorder, hence the need to manage them effectively.
The psychologist urged people to shun negative thoughts, work on emotions and manage their behaviors as well as observing sleep for minimum of seven hours per day to enhance good health.
In a remark, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria Progress FM, Dr. Adebola Agbaje enjoined progress FM staff to take their health issues seriously and seek counsel when necessary.
Highlight of the health talk included questions and answers session where the staff expressed their gratitude to the health expert for his counseling.
