Presidential Election Tribunal Dismisses Action Alliance Petition Against Tinubu

The Presidential Election Petitions Court sitting in Abuja has dismissed a petition filed by the Action Alliance, AA and its presidential candidate, Solomon Okanigbuan against the president-elect Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress.

Chairman of the five-man panel of Justices of the Court, Justice Haruna Tsammani dismissed the petition following its withdrawal by the party.

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria and counsel to the petitioner, Chief Oba Maduabuchi had announced the decision of his client to do away with the petition.

He said that Asiwaju Tinubu,, the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC as well as others had served him with no objection responses.

The development was confirmed by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN who stood for Tinubu and Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN who argued for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In his ruling, Justice Tsammani dismissed the petition in its entirety following no objections from all the respondents.

The petition was the first to be thrown out by the Tribunal.
