Ekiti State House of Assembly has been shut over rumour of planned invasion by some people.
Our correspondent Olaniyi Alade who visited the premises of the Assembly reports that police officers were at strategic locations in the House to prevent breaking down of laws and order.
Staff of the Assembly were also sighted trooping out of their offices to their respective homes.
In an interview, some of the workers who dont want their names to be mentioned explained that there was an order from the State Police Headquarters that workers should vacate the assembly in the interest of peace, saying some people were planning to attack the House of Assembly.
During a phone call with the speaker of the Assembly, Chief Gboyega Aribisogan said that the assembly was taken over to prevent crisis base on intelligence report from the police, saying normalcy would soon return to the house.
He said there would be a meeting later in the day with commissioner of police to know the next line action.
It would be recalled that chief Gboyega Aribisogan was elected as the new speaker of the assembly yesterday after defeated Mrs Olubunmi Adelugba from Emure Ekiti.
