Police shoots corps member in Ibadan

Pandemonium broke out today at New garage area of Ibadan between some corps members and four police officers.

A witness who pleaded anonymity said the officers during a stop-and-search at Odo Ona Kekere had allegedly demanded money from them .

This he said angered the corp members as they allegedly drove off in their Toyota muscle car.

The police officers immediately gave them a hot chase and caught up with the corps members at New garage and allegedly shot at one of them.

This got the youths angry and allegedly pounced on one of the police officers while the three others fled the scene.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the corps members were coming from the Oluyole Local Government Area Headquarters for their weekly Community Development Service CDs hence the large number of the youths.

It was also gathered that the injured corps member had been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

confirming the incident ,the State Police Public Relations Officer Adewale oshifeso said the case is being investigated .
