A PDP stallwart in Gbonyin local Government, Hon. Bunmi Adeyanju known as Ayanfe Gbonyin has installed solar street lights in some strategic areas in Agbado Ekiti, Gbonyin Local Government.
Speaking on the motive behind the project In Agbado Ekiti his home town, Adeyanju explained that residents of some communities in Gbonyin Council area have been in total darkness for about a decade hence he deemed it fit to install the solar street light to illuminate the area for easy movement of people and vehicles especially at night.
Ayanfe Gbonyin noted that the project which was the first phase in Agbado Ekiti would be extended to other towns in the local government.
The PDP stallwart lamented that residents of the council area could not raise the amount of money demanded by BEDC before electricity could be restored in the towns, saying that most of the landlords were late and aged
“Almost all communities in Gbonyin local government have been disconnected from national grid and left in total darkness while efforts made to restore light to the towns yielded no result.
“Even government was unable to help in restoring light to the towns after much appeal and consultations”
Mr Adeyanju who is the PDP House of Assembly Candidate in Gbonyin local Government during the last election lamented how people would be living without electricity for many years in this twenty first century, noting that such had exposed them to attacks from criminals and affected their socio economic development.
Ayanfe Gbonyin said that the project was a tip of an iceberg and promised to do more to improve the standard of living of people in the council.
He therefore appealed to youths in the council area and Ekiti state in general to desist from any act that could mortgage their future.
Commenting on the project, the Owa Oro of Agbado Ekiti, Oba Samuel Adefemi Adesina said that Ayanfe Gbonyin had been contributing his quota to the development of Agbado Ekiti and urged other well-meaning sons and daughters of the town to emulate him for betterment and growth of the community.
Also, some residents of the town who could not hide there feeling about the project said that Hon Bunmi Adeyanju had performed excellently even beyond those given political appointments.
The residents appreciated the giant stride of the PDP stallwart and promised to support Ayanfe gbonyin in his future political adventure.
The residents latter passed vote of confidence on him for his humanitarian services even during the covid 19 pandemic.
