The governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has declared his commitment to stamp out any form of illegality or corruption among government officials. He made this statement at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Universal Week of Prayer, organized by the state government and the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN in Ado Ekiti.The governor urged his cabinet members to be selfless and serve the people well, adding that he would continue to prioritize the welfare of Ekiti people with God’s guidance. He also appealed to the residents of the state to be patient with the government, assuring them that the state’s limited resources would be used wisely for their common good.The state chairman of CAN, Reverend Emmanuel Aribasoye, who gave a sermon on “The benefit of returning to the Lord God”, called on the people to repent from their sins and follow God’s will. He said that a humble and godly society would enjoy God’s healing and prosperity.The event also featured special prayers for Nigeria, Ekiti state, Governor Oyebanji and all the state institutions and stakeholders, just as the state executive council members renewed their pledge to God and the people on their stewardship.
