Osun Governor Suspends OSIEC Chairman, Members

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke has directed the immediate suspension of the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), Mr Segun Oladitan and other members of the Commission.

The suspension is sequel to several petitions bothering on financial impropriety, dereliction of duty, absenteeism and abuse of office against the said Chairman and members of the Commission.

A statement by the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Tesleem Igbalaye says pending the outcome of investigation into the allegations against the suspended Chairman and members of the Commission, the Secretary to the Commission shall hold forth in running the affairs of the Commission.

It will be recall that the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission OSIEC, conducted local government election on October 15, 2022 in the state despite court proceedings again the conduct of the election filed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
