The Independent NationaI Electoral Commission, INEC has presented certificate of return to the Osun State Governor Elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples’ Democratic party, winner of the last Saturday Governorship poll in the state.
His Deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi also got certificate of return.
INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Professor Abdulganiyu Raji presented the certificates to the duo of Senator Adeleke and Prince Adewusi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
He uged the Governor Elect to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Electorate.
Professor Raji also appreciated the people of Osun state for their peaceful conduct which was part of the factors that led to the success of the exercise.
Responding, the Governor Elect, senator Adeleke dedicated his victory to the people of Osun state for their support, with a promise that they would enjoy more dividends of democracy when his Administration takes off.
INEC Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of UNILAG, Prof Toyin Ogundipe had on Sunday declared Senator Adeleke, candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, the winner of the Governorship election.
Adeleke emerged winner of the Osun state governorship election with 403,371 votes to beat his major contender, incumbent Governor and APC Candidate, Gboyega Oyetola who polled 375,027 votes to come second.
