The Onifisin of Ifisin-Ekiti, Oba Michael Folarin has promised to continue to embark on programmes that will make life more easier for his people.
Oba Folarin made the promise while flagging off the free distribution of five kg cooking gas to residents of the town at his gas retail outlet located in Ifisin-Ekiti.
The Monarch said part of the responsibilities of a King is to ensure that his subjects live comfortably, hence his resolve to embark on life changing programmes, such as the distribution of the gas.
Oba Folarin expressed his readiness to collaborate with government and other development partners to bring more growth to the town.
According to the Traditional Ruler, the free gas distribution is part of activities lined up for the celebration of the forty second Ifisin day, which will be held on Saturday 14th of October.
Also speaking, the wife of the traditional ruler, Olori Lydia Folarin noted that the free distribution of gas was part of measures to cushion the effects of the harsh economy on the people, as price of gas continue to increase.
Olori Folarin said a total of eighty six residents of Ifisin benefited from the distribution of free gas, while other beneficiaries were selected from Ido and towns under Isokan LCDA.
In separate interviews, some of the beneficiaries including the Eyejaka (DRDM) of Ifisin, Chief Beatrice Familugba, Chief Elizabeth Ajayi, Evangelist Funmilayo Olofintila and Mr Peter Fajembola appreciated the Monarch and his wife for extending hands of fellowship to them, praying God to replenish them.
Meanwhile, the free distribution of gas will continue on Monday in Ido-Ekiti, it will be the turn of Ifaki and Ilogun-Ekiti on Tuesday, while residents of Oke Ora and Odo Ora will benefit on Wednesday, on Thursday, those living in Orin and Igbole-Ekiti will receive theirs and the exercise will be concluded on Friday, October 13, 2023.
