A new Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Ebong Eyibio Ebong has been deployed to take charge of Zone-17 covering Ondo and Ekiti States.
This is contained in a Statement by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Adeoye Akeem.
According to the statement, the new AIG is an indigene of Nkim Itam in ITU Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and enlisted into the Nigeria Police force in 1990.
AIG Ebong has served in different formations and capacities, until recently as the Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, Lagos before he was promoted to the new rank of AIG.
Mr Ebong will be the Sixth AIG to oversee Zone-17, Akure.
