It was a moment of merriment as a Philanthropist, Oluwole Orungbe was conferred with the honorary Chieftaincy title of Aare Akorewolu of Ado Ekiti alongside his wife as the Yeye Aare Akorewolu.
The installation ceremony was held at the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe.
The palace was filled to capacity by families, friends, well wishers and members of the Lions Club international.
Performing the installation, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe said the honourary Chieftaincy title was conferred on Chief Oluwole Orungbe and his wife in recognition of their contributions to the town.
Oba Adejugbe urged them not to relent in their services to humanity and the growth of the state capital.
Responding, the Aare Akorewolu of Ado-Ekiti, Chief Oluwole Orungbe said the honour would spur him to do more in giving back to the society.
Chief Orungbe who is a member of the Lions Club International, District 404B2 Nigeria, Ekiti State University EKSU Chapter appreciated Oba Adejugbe for the honour bestowed on him and his wife.
In an interview, the President, Lions Club, EKSU chapter, Dr. Michael Afolayan described Chief Oluwole Orungbe as a cheerful giver who had impacted on many lives and his community.
Dr. Afolayan said the new Chief had been fulfilling the major mandate of the Lions Club which is humanitarian services, advising him to continue in that regard.
Also speaking, the mother of the celebrant, Mrs Mary Orungbe and one of his friends, Mr. Dimeji Arogba congratulated him, while urging him not to rest on his oars in giving helping hands to the needy.
The honourary Chief had personally carried out various development projects in his area Oluwole Orungbe community, off Bawa Estate Ado-Ekiti such as building of school, police post, donation of transformer and electricity poles, among others.
