Olukoyi joins ancestors after 35yrs on throne, as Osun Government mourns late monarch

The Onikoyi of Ikoyi Land in Osun State, Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji has joined his ascenstors at the age of 75.

Ikoyi land is in Isokan South Local Council Development Area, LCDA in Osun State.

The Traditional ruler died after brief illness.

It was gathered that his body will be committed to the mother earth on Thursday 21st of April, 2022 at Olukoyi’s Palace, Ikoyi-Osun.

The late monarch who ruled for thirty five (35) years, ascended the throne in 1987.

The official announcement was made the Chairman of Isokan South LCDA, Prince Wasiu Oyelami.

His post reads
“INNALILLAHI WA INNA ILLEHI ROJUINA. The Glorious Exit of a Patriarch. HRM Oba Yisau Oyetunji Bamitale Otunla, Kodaolu I,
The Olukoyi of Ikoyi Osun Kingdom.

“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace and Grant him Aljannah fridaous”. He concluded.

Meanwhile, the Osun State government has commiserated with the royal family of the Olukoyi of Ikoyi land, Isokan Local Council Development Area of Osun State, over the demise of Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1.

The Olukoyi joined his ancestors at the age of 75 years, during a brief illness.

A statement by the state commissioner for information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemo1de indicates that the 35-year reign of Oba Yisau Bamitale Oyetunji Otunla was notable for utmost commitment and love for his people.

While noting that the monarch would be greatly missed, the government prayed God to grant him eternal rest and his family and the entire Ikoyi town the fortitude to bear the loss.
